Graphical abstractIncorporated casein molecules via amino linkage onto the surface of graphene cause the stability of the graphene via their surface carboxylic acid groups (26,27). Aspartic acid and glutamic acid residue of casein molecule are responsible for the graphene oxide reduction.

Graphical abstractA graphene-based ternary composite was prepared by loading ZnO and CdS nanoparticles in graphene nanosheets via a facile one-pot hydrothermal process. The as-prepared ternary CdS/ZnO/graphene composite has shown excellent photoelectrochemical activity, which indicate that it may have a great potential application in photoelectrochemical hydrogen production from water reduction under sunlight.
