Nanocomposites by introducing graphene oxide (GO) into chitosan (CS) matrix were prepared and the effect of GO on the crystallization, thermal stability and mechanical properties of the films were investigated. In addition, the electrochemical behavior of the CS/GO modified electrode was comparatively studied with that of the neat CS-modified electrode.

Graphical abstract

The polyimide (PI)/graphene nanocomposite films were synthesized by in situ polymerization using 4,4′-oxydianilline (ODA), graphene oxide (GO) and pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA). The tribological properties of PI/GO nanocomposite films were measured under seawater lubrication condition. This study can provide some guidance to develop polymer materials with excellent wear resistance suitable for ocean environment.
