Graphical abstractA novel ZnO@PbS/GO nanostructure photocatalyst is constructed by simple assembly method and its multiple exciton generation (MEG) effect is confirmed by transient absorption spectrum and transient photocurrent measurements. The photocatalyst realizes the application of MEG in suspended photocatalytic hydrogen evolution system and the photocatalytic efficiency is remarkably improved by the synergistic effect of MEG and GO.
