Stöber-like method to Synthesize Ultradispersed Fe3O4 Nanoparticles on Graphene with Excellent Photo-Fenton Reaction and High-Performance Lithium Storage   Original Research Article
Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Available online 2 November 2015, Pages
Bocheng Qiu, Qiaoying Li, Bin Shen, Mingyang Xing, Jinlong Zhang

Graphical abstract

A simple and facile Stöber-like method is used to prepare the ultradispersed Fe3O4 nanoparticles (3-8nm) on the reduced graphene oxide (RGO) sheet. The prepared Fe3O4/RGO composites not only possess ultrathin graphene (≤ 4 layers) and a high surface area of ∼199.8 m2 g−1, but also exhibit superior and stable Photo-Fenton activity, and very excellent reversible lithium storage capacity.

Graphene/TiO2/ZSM-5 Composites Synthesized by Mixture Design were Used for Photocatalytic Degradation of Oxytetracycline under Visible Light: Mechanism and Biotoxicity   Original Research Article
Applied Surface Science, Available online 2 November 2015, Pages

The mechanism of OTC degradation can be described as follows. At first, the OTC molecule was adsorbed onto the surface of GTZ material. The conduction band electron (e−) and valence band holes (h+) are generated when aqueous GTZ suspension is irradiated with visible light. The generation of (e−/h+) pair leading to the formation of reactive oxygen species. The •OH radical and •O2− can oxidize OTC molecular, resulting in the degradation and mineralization of the organics.
