Graphical abstractThis article describes a unique process for preparing supercapacitor electrodes fabricated with ultrathin film composed of polyaniline (PANi) and electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO) bilayers, which yielded a specific capacitance of 1563 F/cm3(at 3.0 A/cm3). The ultrahigh specific capacitance could be achieved through fine-tuning of film structure using layer-by-layer assembly method as well as electrochemical reduction of PANi-GO electrodes.
