Graphical abstractGraphenefVO2 hybrid materials are prepared by one-step simultaneous hydrothermal reduction technology. The prepared graphene(1.O)/V02 hybrid material shows a specific capacitances of 225 F g1 in 0.5mol L' K2S04 solution. Furthermore, an asymmetric electrochemical capacitor with graphene(1.0)/V02 as a positive electrode and graphene as a negative electrode is assembled, and it can work in a cell voltage of 1.7V and show excellent capacitive property
