A novel method for the synthesis of graphene-ZnO catalyst has been developed by the reduction of graphite oxide and in-situ deposition of ZnO nanoparticles. Thus prepared graphene-ZnO catalyst is capable to degrade the rhodamine B completely in presence of natural sunlight. Further, the photodegradation efficiency of graphene-ZnO catalyst was improved by its sensitization with cobalt phthalocyanine.
