Graphical abstractReduced graphene oxide-silver nanoparticle wrapped by a thin layer of polydopamine (rGO-Ag@PDA) was prepared as a SERS substrate for aromatic dye detection. This novel substrate shows stronger absorption ability to dyes, higher SERS activity, increased stability and improved reusability than those of widely reported rGO-Ag hybrid substrate.

| Rational Design of Gold Nanoparticle/graphene Hybrids for Simultaneous Electrochemical Determination of Ascorbic Acid, Dopamine and Uric Acid Original Research Article Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry, Volume 44, Issue 12, December 2016, Pages e1617-e1625 Huan WANG, Li-Guang XIAO, Xue-Feng CHU, Yao-Dan CHI, Xiao-Tian YANG
Graphical abstractThe AuNPs (17, 28 and 46 nm)/PDDA/GNS hybrids were prepared via the electrostatic interaction between the citrate-protected AuNPs and PDDA/GNS, which could determine simultaneously ascorbic acid, dopamine, as well as uric acid. Moreover, the proposed sensor was applied for the determination of UA in real human urine sample.
