Role of Pyridinic-N for Nitrogen-doped Graphene Quantum Dots in Oxygen Reaction Reduction Original Research Article Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Available online 16 August 2017, Pages Lang Sun, Yi Luo, Ming Li, Guanghui Hu, Yongjie Xu, Tao Tang, Jianfeng Wen, Xinyu Li, Liang Wang
Graphical abstractNitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots (N-GQDs) with different pyridinic-N contents modified reduced graphene oxide (r-GO) catalysts demonstrated the electrocatalytic activities and can thus be used as metal-free catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in alkaline media. pyridinic-N played an important part in electrocatalytic ORR, wherein N-GQD/r-GO samples with higher pyridinic-N content markedly increased electrocatalytic property by promoting onset potential, cathodic reduction peak, and current density.
